The Rosette Nebula, a vast cloud of gas and dust

The Rosette Nebula, a vast cloud of gas and dust, is a stunning emission nebula located in the constellation Monoceros.

Spanning approximately 130 light-years in diameter and situated around 5,000 light-years away from Earth, this celestial marvel is a hotspot for star formation, illuminated by the energetic radiation of its young stellar inhabitants.

 

To capture the intricate details of the Rosette Nebula, a dedicated effort was made using advanced astrophotography equipment. The imaging setup featured the ASI 2600 MC Pro camera, coupled with a TS-Optics SD APO 80/F7 telescope equipped with a x0.8 reducer. Guiding was facilitated by the ASI 120MM and 30F4, while the ASIair+ ensured seamless integration and control throughout the imaging process.

 

A total of 90 exposures, each lasting 120 seconds at a gain of 101 and a temperature of -10°C, were meticulously acquired with 30 dark frames to enhance the image quality. This rigorous approach enabled the capture of the Rosette Nebula’s intricate structures and vibrant hues, revealing the celestial dynamics and stellar evolution within this captivating cosmic region.
