Ozek married Casim Ozan Celtic, 23, this month, two years after he threw chemicals in her face following an argument, leaving Berfin completely blind in one eye and only seeing 30 percent in the other.

After the attack, Ozek filed a criminal complaint against Celtic and he was arrested, but they soon began exchanging messages of love and begging for forgiveness, which resulted in the complaint being withdrawn.
“We corresponded a lot. I gave myself to him. I love him very much and he loves me,” Ozek said.
However, her attacker was ultimately sentenced to 13 years in prison, but after a change in the law during the pandemic, he was released on parole, which also caused a public backlash.
