Donald Trump reportedly confirmed the US used six of its huge 30,000-pound bunker buster bombs to strike an Iranian nuclear facility deep underground. The US President said Iran’s key nuclear sites were “completely and fully obliterated” in strikes overnight.
It is widely believed that the American weapon is the only one in the world capable of striking Fordow — a nuclear fuel enrichment plant built underneath a mountain and protected by between 260 and 300 feet of rock and soil. If confirmed, this would be the first combat use of the MOP, which uses its weight and sheer kinetic force to penetrate underground and then explode. The UN nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) says there has been “no increase in off-site radiation levels” after the US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.

Fox News broadcaster Sean Hannity reports Mr Trump told him in a phone call that six of the bunker buster MOPs had been used on Fordow.
It can only be dropped by the B-2 stealth bomber, some of which had earlier been moved to the US military base in Guam before the attacks.
Trump officials said Fordow was “gone”, Hannity reported, while a US official suggested the site had been “taken off the table”.

Two of Iran’s other nuclear sites were also “wiped out” with 40 Tomahawk missiles fired by US submarines, Hannity added.
Mr Trump said the attacks on Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan were “very successful”.
Writing on his Truth Social platform, he said: “A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow.”
“There is not another military in the World that could have done this,” he added.

In an address at the White House, he warned the US will not hesitate to strike other targets in Iran if “peace does not come quickly”.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on X that Tehran “reserves all options” to retaliate.
He was the first-ranking official to comment on the US strikes, saying: “The events this morning are outrageous and will have everlasting consequences.”
